FOUNDED ON HUMANITY.
THRIVING ON GRACE.

Founded in 2009, WeCare Industries was born from the heart, inspired by the founder’s sister, a disabled adult who continues to be the heartbeat of our mission.

What started as simple visits to local day programs, cutting and styling hair, sharing laughter, and building confidence, grew into something much greater. Over the years, WeCare Industries has evolved into a true source of joy, inclusion, and community connection for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

From becoming a trusted vendor with Special Olympics to hosting events, fundraisers, and partnerships that bring people together, our journey reflects one simple belief:

When people feel seen, valued, and included, they thrive.

And that is why the WeCare team shows up every day, because we wholeheartedly believe everyone deserves to belong.

A Sisterly Bond that
Can Never Be Broken

Founded by Vickie Edwards, WeCare Industries was born out of a deep love and appreciation for her sister, Danell, who is developmentally disabled and the inspiration behind the organization’s work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

As Danell’s primary caregiver and fiercest advocate, Vickie became acutely aware of the disparities and challenges faced by adults with developmental disabilities, including the lack of inclusive social programs and supportive community resources. The lack of empathy and understanding she witnessed toward the Disabled community sparked her mission in disability advocacy and person-centered care.

Vickie originally launched WeCare Industries as a platform to address these gaps in support and services for adults with disabilities. The organization began by offering specialized mobile salon services and grooming experiences as a way of enhancing pride, confidence, and self-esteem for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

WeCare has since transformed its mission to create inclusive social events that inspire a sense of fun, provide an emotionally safe environment, and affirm the dignity and belonging of all the people they serve. Through community-centered events, recreational programs, and disability-inclusive experiences, the WeCare team firmly believes that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued, and works tirelessly to cultivate an environment of love, compassion, and inclusion for all.
